The iPhone 14 has finally been made official by Apple during a dedicated Keynote that took place on September 7, at 7 pm. If it doesn’t completely change the range, there are many differences between the new model and the iPhone 13, released last year.

Price, design, performance, photo, autonomy, we dissect for you all the differences between the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 13.

In broad terms, the iPhone 14 brings, in addition to the iPhone 13, better photographs (especially for the front camera), satellite communication (only for emergencies) and a detection in case of car crash.

iPhone 14 and iPhone 13: what differences in terms of design?

The iPhone 14 has different new colors: five different colors, including a very light purple. The iPhone 13 is available in (PRODUCT)RED, starlight, midnight, blue, pink and green.

Their screens are similar in size as the iPhone 14 is 6.1 inches, just like the iPhone 13. The iPhone 14’s screen is OLED, just like the iPhone 13 as well. However, it is 1200 nits in terms of brightness, against 800 for the iPhone 13. Both have Dolby Vision. As for the iPhone 14 Plus, it is 6.7 inches.

The iPhone 14 features an ultra-wide camera and a new 12-megapixel main camera with f/1.5 aperture and sensor-based stabilization. Apple claims that there is a 49% improvement in low-light image quality compared to the iPhone 13 and that the night mode is now twice as fast.

There’s also a new 12-megapixel TrueDepth camera with autofocus on the front. Apple alleges that it also applies its Deep Fusion image processing “earlier in the image pipeline,” improving low-light performance and color rendering, calling this Photogenic Engine technology. The aperture is also faster, with 38% more brightness: the focus would be faster than its predecessor, even with little light.

iPhone 14 and iPhone 13: who has the best battery life?

Few figures have been announced by Apple for the new iPhone. The battery is expected to last a full day, without more precision. The iPhone Plus is supposed to have the best battery life for an iPhone, a first without having to switch to the iPhone Pro Max. As a reminder, the iPhone 13 offers up to 19 hours in video playback, up to 15 hours in streaming and up to 75 hours in audio.
